The hearing that will decide if the Williamson Strong school advocacy group is a PAC will occur on Wednesday, May 13.
The group is all about keeping up with what’s going on in Williamson County Schools. They have a website with a discussion board and a web app called Roar that connects users to school officials about current issues posted on the website.
Evidence that the group had pulled for particular candidates in the last county school election was presented to the Tennessee Bureau of Campaign and Election Finance by Susan Curlee. She presented over 100 pages of documentation.
“Williamson Strong is looking forward to resolution on this matter so we can give our full attention to supporting public schools,” is all core member of Williamson Strong, Jim Cheney, would say on the court hearing.
If it is judged that Williamson Strong is a PAC they could be subject to up to $10,000 in fines.
