2.The Columbus Doors
These doors aren’t called the Columbus Doors because he made them or they were made for him. They’re called the Columbus Doors because the 17 feet tall, 20,000 pound doors have nine panels that depict Christopher Columbus’ life from 1487 to 1506.

The Columbus Doors are now featured as the entrance to the Rotunda, which is in the heart of the U.S Capitol Building, and accompanied by paintings, reliefs and symbols of important events in U.S. history.
