1. Pull-Tight Theatre Celebrates 50 Years

WHAT: A half-century. The golden anniversary. And in 2018, one of Franklin’s longest-standing traditions will turn the big 5-0.

Pull-Tight Theatre celebrates its 50th season at the end of the month with a community open house, meant to commemorate its storied past and usher in continued dedication to theatrical productions that entertain and unify the city of Franklin.

The 50th Anniversary Open House will feature a walk down memory lane with showings of a short film entitled “50 Years a Treasure,” featuring interviews from mainstage actors both past and present. Memorabilia and photographs dating back to the company’s 1968 opening production, Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, will also be on display.

Additionally, guests will be treated to a musical preview from the theatre’s season opener, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific.

Pull-Tight’s festivities will be held at the downtown theatre, located on 112 Second Avenue South in Franklin, from 2-6 PM on Sunday, July 29th. The event is free for all ages. Refreshments will be served.

2. Movie Gang Superhero Party at Franklin Theatre

WHAT: The summer is filled with parties. So the Movie Gang is throwing their own! On Friday, July 27th they are throwing the Summer Superhero Party. Showing their favorite comic book movie on the big screen of the historic downtown Franklin Theatre: Guardians of the Galaxy- Watch the hilarious group of intergalactic criminals be forced to work together to stop a fanatical warrior from taking control of the universe. Sounds like a heck of a good time, doesn’t it? Not only will the movie be awesome but so much more rockin superhero fun will be had. Show up early, because while they blast the films awesome soundtrack they will be giving out FREE comic books brought to you by Franklin’s own comic shop Starbase 1552 Comics. 3. Spring Hill Pickin in the Park

WHAT: The monthly Pickin’ in the park returns with Anam Cara (Patrick Mead and Misha Robledo), Scott Boyte, Benjamin Duffie, 840 Junction, Mark Brandt and Trip Brown – and of course your host Matt Meyer, who starts the music at 5 pm! Bring chairs, blankets, food and beverage and enjoy an evening of music.

4. Spring Hill Library Book Sale

WHAT: Create your own library with great books, cookbooks, movies, and more at this quarterly Friends of the Library Book Sale. Paperbacks – $1, hardbacks – $2, new releases – $5, children’s books – $.50, DVDs & books on CDs – $2, VHS and all other misc. items – $.25.

5. A Touch of Paris Fashion Show

WHAT: The 3rd Annual A Touch of Paris Fashion Show will take place in Franklin, TN at Franklin Marriott Cool Springs. The event partners with non-profit organizations to bring awareness to Human Trafficking and Teen Suicide. Returning to Walking for the Cause will be Mrs. Williamson County 2017, Lindsey Strait Stafford. Mrs. TN. International 2018 Shonjrell Ladner will be hosting the Purple Carpet.
