It’s the fourth weekend in July which means it’s time for the annual Bluegrass Along the Harpeth Festival taking place on Friday, July 27, 7 p and Saturday, July 28, 10 a. This family-friendly free event will take place in downtown Franklin along the square.

The event which started back in 1991 is in honor of Franklin’s Grand Ole Opry stars Kirk and Sam McGhee. Kicking off on Friday night with some of the best bluegrass bands around, you can gather around public square for some toe-tapping music. Then on Saturday morning, the festival holds a competition for individuals, bands, and dancing. See the competition rules here.

Attendees can also grab a bite to eat at the on-site food trucks, buy locally from vendors and enjoy an art show. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Williamson County Cultural Arts Commission.
