Williamson County Schools Superintendent Mike Looney is applying for a position as Metro Nashville Public Schools next Director of Schools. The final round of interviews wrapped up yesterday, and on Thursday MNPS will discuss and vote on their decision for who will take on the role.
Looney had his interview on Tuesday, where he charmed the board and community into applause for his Nashville vision and laughter at his lighthearted manner.
Looney began serving WCS in 2009, and has previously had his superintendent contract extended by the WCS board. The Williamson County School Board has been considering extending Looney’s current contract again, which right now would end in January 2017.
The MNPS board will be making their decision on Thursday, July 16 during their 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. meeting.
