The Kinekt Digital Summit will take place July 8-9, 2015 at The Factory at Franklin featuring local thought leaders and digital experts from across the region. The theme of this inaugural event is “Being Human in a Connected World.”
This digital event is designed to help business owners, professionals, educators, and communicators learn how to connect in an authentically human way online. This is much different than traditional marketing and advertising, in which studies show the public’s trust level has steadily declined.
The July 9th main event for Kinekt 2015 will immerse attendees in a full day of learning from the best local and regional thought leaders in the digital and social media space, including BuzzPlant CEO Bob Hutchins, whose projects include The Passion of the Christ, The Chronicles of Narnia, Soul Surfer, and Blue Like Jazz; and Dan Holowack, CEO of Toronto-based CrowdRiff. Other experts, rounding out a stellar roster of more than a dozen speakers, include Jarrid Wilson, popular millennial blogger, author and speaker, and Steve Chandler, CEO of local branding firm ChandlerThinks.
Prior to the main event, there will be a free Digital 101 session open to Kinekt registrants on Wednesday, July 8th, from 3pm – 6pm. Seating for this hands-on learning event is limited to 150 participants. Over 35 local experts will be available for one-on-one sessions answering social media and digital marketing questions. This session is for beginners and novices looking to create a strategy or just looking to further develop a presence online.
“Because of Digital Technology, we’re now more connected to one another than we’ve ever been before,” said Josh Collins, Founder of Kinekt. “Brands that embrace this connection in authentic, human ways are the ones leading us into the future.” Collins goes on to say, “As the Digital Communication Manager for the Williamson County Convention & Visitors Bureau, I’ve led the brand growth for Visit Franklin over 1800% in the last year-and-a-half by embracing this way of connecting and engaging our audience. Social media is more of a conversation to participate in rather than a transactional medium, and behavioral studies are continuing to prove people are growing tired of brands constantly broadcasting a message that doesn’t resonate. The vision for Kinekt grew from seeing such a huge need for authentic conversation online. I believe we should talk with our audience not at them, thus restoring the human element.”
