Business is booming in Berry Farms, the 600-acre mixed-used community off of Goose Creek Bypass in south Frankin. Berry Farms will host three grand openings next week and two new restaurants announced or updated plans for opening in the community.

1. Benchmark Sports Pub and Eatery

The newest announcement is Benchmark Sports Pub and Eatery.

Last week, Boyle Investment Group announced on the Berry Farms Facebook page that Benchmark will open a location in the Franklin mixed-use development at 5000 Hughes Crossing by Publix.

Benchmark, which is known for its downtown Nashville location on 117 2nd Avenue, will move into a space facing Hughes Mill Park. It will be near the newly-opened Publix, and got one of the last spaces available in that part of the project. According to the owners, husband and wife Franklin residents Jamie and Jamie Grissom, they are hoping to open in August.

“We had looked at a lot of different areas and had some opportunities in downtown and Brentwood and Franklin,” Jamie said. “We just loved what we saw about Berry Farms. It is really emerging and we think it is only going to get better. That area is underserved too. We felt there wasn’t really a cool sports bar and restaurant concept there to hang out at.”

The Berry Farms Benchmark will be more food and family oriented than the downtown Nashville tourist and night-life driven one.

“We are going to focus on having great food, because we think there will be a lot of take out there. It will be much more family oriented. About 85 percent of our downtown traffic is tourists, we think within the Franklin market as high as 98 percent will be families or locals looking for a night out and just want a good local option to watch a game. We also really want to cater to sports.”

Popular dishes at Benchmark include Jamie’s melt down (which is a 1/2 lb burger) and the Memphis rib sandwich.

“We are thrilled to announce that Benchmark Sports Pub & Eatery is coming to Berry Farms,” Kristin Cales, spokesperson for Boyle Investment Co., said. “You may know them from Benchmark in downtown Nashville. Same great owners bringing great food and sports to South Franklin. They snagged the space with the patio facing Hughes Mill Park.”
