A. Marshall Family Foods Inc., announced today that its new gastropub concept in the Franklin community of Westhaven will be called “Haven & Ale.”
While the A. Marshall team had been discussing names and concepts for the restaurant leading up to the deal’s announcement, the Haven & Ale name itself came via ideas from the West Franklin community.
“We created a survey in which area residents could offer suggestions for the name, menu items, other pieces of the restaurant — really everything that’s important to them,” said Claire Marshall Crowell, chief operating officer of A. Marshall Foods. “In those responses, almost 25 percent of them suggested ‘Haven’ be part of the name, and the Haven & Ale name just hit the mark. It was a real ‘ah ha!’ moment around the table for us.
“With more than 300 responses to the survey, it’s clear the community is as excited as we are to get the Westhaven location open for business. It was a tremendous response and it’s encouraging to have so much participation from the people we aim to serve.”
Haven & Ale will be located in Southern Land’s Westhaven development (158 Front Street, Suite 120), just off Highway 96, and leaders are working toward an opening in the first half of 2016. The 2,500-square-foot first floor will include a bar and grill, with a 1,250-square-foot patio anchoring the front of the restaurant.
The company also announced that Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages for Haven & Ale are now active, and will be the primary sources for updates on building progress, opening details and special offers with other A. Marshall Foods restaurants.
Crowell said Haven & Ale will have a casual gastropub feel that provides a well-rounded menu and sought-after gathering spot for the many neighborhoods in the vicinity.
“We also received a lot of great ideas about the menu, which we’re incorporating into our planning. We’re going to have creative and healthy options, those unique items that our restaurants are known for,” said Crowell. “As a foundation, it’s going to be a versatile restaurant, with great detail in the design and careful consideration of the atmosphere.”
Haven & Ale will be the seventh restaurant for A. Marshall Foods, which owns and operates four Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant locations in Davidson, Hamilton, Maury and Williamson counties, as well as Puckett’s Boat House, Puckett’s Trolley, Puckett’s Events & Catering and Homestead Manor, the farm-to-table restaurant and event property in Thompson’s Station.
