Ravenwood Wrestling Takes Regional Title

Ravenwood Wrestling Team

By Amber Pennycuff

Last weekend, the Ravenwood High School wrestling team won the regional, defeating McGavock and Brentwood.

Coach Josh Peck says success is all about a team that can have fun and still win. And that is exactly what Peck has instilled in his players. This team has gone undefeated the last five years in the region.

“My team is awesome,” stated a proud Coach Peck, “I couldn’t dream about being around a better group.”

Senior leaders Clayton Hale, Rex Shotts, Robin Klingensmith, Andrew Long, Taylor Warren, Grant Parsons, Andrew Debattista, Ryan McLean, Rhondell Walker and Cade Smith are just some of the young athletes who have taken this team to new heights.

“With this many seniors, any team should be good,” noted Peck.

Peck is a Williamson County native himself and wrestled at Franklin High School and went on to take his talents to Lindenwood University in collegiate athletics. He says after years of training, “the nickname Coach finally stuck”.

And from the looks of it, for good reason.
