The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department (WCPR) invites area seniors (55+) to participate in upcoming day trips to visit area attractions. These activities are open to the public.
General Jackson Showboat
A trip is planned for Wednesday, July 17 to the General Jackson Showboat. Step aboard the famous showboat in Music City for an afternoon of dynamic live entertainment in the alluring Victoria Theatre. While taking in the show that will sample all of the styles of music that made Tennessee famous, you can indulge yourself in the mouthwatering southern buffet. The General Jackson paddlewheel riverboat is the largest vessel of its kind and can hold over 1,000 passengers. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity. The cost of the outing is $78 (including lunch).

Tenn South Distillery, Lexington Winery, Soda Pop Junction
Join us for a visit to Lynnville, Tennessee on Tuesday, July 30. Tenn South offers a true grain to glass production. Participants will tour the facility to see this process in action, and also enjoy a whiskey tasting. Lunch (Dutch treat) will be at Soda Pop Junction. Known for its Southern cooking, award winning burgers, fried pies and old fashioned ice cream, this lunch stop will serve up everyone’s favorite cuisine. The trip will wrap up with a classic wine experience at Lexington Winery. Cost of the outing is $20. The group will depart the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Dr., Spring Hill at 9:00 a.m. and return at 3:30 p.m. Registration begins June 17 at www.wcparksandrec.com.
