Williamson County’s newest deputies are following in the footsteps of their parents as public servants. Joanna Culberson and Tiffany Teague were recently sworn into the life of service they grew up watching. Both will be completing the Detention Training Academy and will be assigned to Corrections.
“Telling my dad that I was going into law enforcement instead of the fire service,” was her toughest challenge said Joanna. She found her interest in the field while taking a class on criminal justice at Centennial High School.
The daughter of Deputy Franklin Fire Chief Mike Culberson and Assistant Communications Supervisor Maureen Culberson grew up surrounded by public safety professionals.
“Both of her grandfathers, me, her dad, and her brother have all served our community in ways that make us especially proud to see her now continue,” said Joanna’s mom, Maureen.
Tiffany is the daughter of Franklin Police Lieutenant Kevin Teague and Jennifer Teague. “She spent a lot of time at the police station,” said Lt. Teague. “Tiffany grew up watching me and interacting with other officers. She spent a lot of time riding with me, patrolling our community. I’m extremely proud that Tiffany’s following in my footsteps, and keeping the tradition of law enforcement in our family; there’s just no greater honor.”
Franklin Police Chief David Rahinsky said, “We have a great relationship with our Sheriff’s Office counterparts, and we are honored to have two children from our family, now be part of theirs. I congratulate Deputy Teague, Deputy Culberson, and their proud parents.”
