The Thoroughbred 20 movie theater, formerly a Carmike Cinemas and now an AMC Theater, has been undergoing renovations, which are nearly finished. After AMC acquired all Carmike Cinemas, a re-branding process has been underway.

The project will create a “totally new” movie experience. Eight of the 20 theaters at the Frazier Drive cinema center will now combine food and film to give dinner and a movie a whole new meaning, according to AMC.

Theaters 1-6 have been remodeled and are now open, as regular theaters. Theaters 7-15 just opened as Dine-In theaters. Theaters 16-20, one of which includes an IMAX screen, will also be traditional theaters and should be re-opened in “the next month or so,” said the theater manager.

The dine-in theaters will operate more like dinner theater, with seats set up for dining and servers bringing food and taking drink orders. The expanded menu includes everything from Asian Steak and Shrimp bowls to Royal Burgers made with fig jam to the Market Board, which is a meat, cheese and savory plate. There is also a long list of appetizers, entrees, desserts and a full bar of drinks.

There will be several ways to order- full-service dine-in, where you reserve a seat and order from your seat. Dine-in delivery to seat allows you to reserve a seat, order at the concession stand then have it delivered to your seat. And in the more traditional mode, dine-in express pick up lets you order at the concession stand then take it to your seat.
