Brentwood High School Defends History Bowl Title

BRENTWOOD, TN- The “Battle of the Minds” competition returns Thursday, February 23 at 7 pm at Brentwood City Hall. Sponsored by the Brentwood Historic Commission, this program stimulates awareness and a love for American history in young people. The ‘History Bowl’ format provides an exciting and fun event for area high school students. The history bowl is similar to the TV show, ‘Jeopardy’ and is made up of a total of four fast-paced rounds with the students buzzing in to answer. There is also a final question on which they can confer and risk some points. There are a total of 130 questions.

This year there will be teams from Brentwood High, Centennial High, Fairview High, Franklin High, Independence High, Page High, Ravenwood High, Summit High and Nolensville High. Brentwood High School currently holds the trophy from last year’s event. The trophy will move on to this year’s winning school and kept there throughout the school year. The top three teams will win cash prizes.

The 2017 Brentwood Historic Commission History Bowl is made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Brentwood Home Page, Tami and Kelly Derryberry, Andrews Transportation Group, Mary Lee Bunch Associates, The Mohr Group at RE/MAX Elite , and Rhea Little in memory of his father, Rhea Little, Jr.
