Winners of Ravenswood Mansion Wedding Giveaway Tie the Knot

Bride-to-be Whitney Woloshyn says, “It has been a whirlwind of a year! Between our jobs and planning for this wedding, we’ve been busy nonstop. We’re feeling grateful, excited, and of course, anxious to get married and start our life together!” On Friday, November 2 at Ravenswood Mansion in Brentwood, Woloshyn wed her fiancé, George Kamel.  And with a last name like Kamel, the wedding would not be complete without an actual, live camel at the big event.

Earlier this year, the City of Brentwood and Ravenswood Mansion launched a contest to provide a free wedding package valued at more than $28,000. Five finalists created YouTube videos to enter the contest.  With more than 11,000 views and nearly 2,500 likes, the future Mr. and Mrs. Kamel stole the show.  The couple, with the help of some of their friends, submitted a video that passed the judging round and to date has received more than 6,000 views. “The experience has been incredible. Every vendor that was provided through the giveaway has been top-notch and great to work with. Every time we tell people we won a free wedding; their shock reminds us of how thankful and lucky we are to have a paid-for dream wedding,” Woloshyn said.

Event Venue Manager Abby Cox,who spent months putting the lavish package together, said, “I see it time and time again that couples have to choose between their dream wedding and everyday finances. I wanted this to be unlike any other wedding giveaway. I wanted it to be everything a couple could need if they dreamed this up on their own. The support from the local vendors has been nothing short of wonderful,” said Cox.

The young couple are already conscientious of how expensive weddings and adult life can be.  Both are employed at Ramsey Solutions in Brentwood where Kamel hosts The Dave Ramsey Show video channel and emcees live events across the country.  Woolshyn is an Executive Administrative Assistant to one of the company’s Executive Vice Presidents.

Understanding customer service very well, Woloshyn said she has enjoyed working with Ravenswood and its staff for her dream wedding.  “We would definitely recommend Ravenswood Mansion to friends, or anyone who wants a beautiful, elegant, intimate wedding. I love that it’s tucked away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Nashville, and the grounds make you feel like you’ve been transported to a different era and place. The staff is also incredible, and their relationships with local vendors make it a breeze to dream up a wedding that suits your exact personalities and tastes,” Woloshyn said.

The wedding ceremony took place on the lawn in front of Ravenswood Mansion. The couple have plans to honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico.  “After a crazy year, we can’t wait to take some time to relax and unwind on the beach, reflect on an amazing year, and look forward to our new life together,” Woloshyn said.
