On Sunday, McIntosh sang at Clarksville’s Faith Outreach Church performing a rendition of “His Eye is on the Sparrow.”
McIntosh was also seen with Michelle Guyton on stage during a showcase in Nashville where they performed a duet of “Why Baby Why.”
“After seeing Tristan perform ‘Why Baby Why’ on American Idol I just had to meet her. I couldn’t believe she picked my song out of the millions of songs she could have performed for her audition,” Guyton said to Rolling Stone Country.
After McIntosh’s performance at Clarksville’s Faith Outreach Church, she shared about her ‘American Idol’ experience to date.
“I’ve been singing for about seven years now, since I was 8 years old,” McIntosh said. “ ‘American Idol’ put out a call for talent and my voice coach recommended me for an audition. I did pretty well, and now I’ve made it past the group round,” reported The Leaf Chronicle.
And when talking about the schedule at American Idol, McIntosh said,“It was a busy week,” she said. “You might wake up at 5 a.m. and not get to bed until 10 p.m. that night. Or you might not sleep for 48 hours.”
Next for McInstosh at Idol-solo rounds.
“You have to perform 90 seconds of a song that you choose,” McIntosh said. “You suggest songs that you want to do, and they get them cleared for you to perform. Sometimes they suggest songs that they think could work better.”
As a big fan of Carrie Underwood and country music in general, we will likely hear more country music for McIntosh in the future.
“Everyone here has been so supportive,” she said. “Everyone at school has been very supportive as well. There are actually two of us from Nashville School of the Arts that are in this competition. My social media following has gone from 800 to 8,000 in the last few weeks. That’s just one of the benefits from this gigantic amount of exposure. ”
Solo rounds start this week with the competition ending in April.
“The competition continues through April. I would like for people to vote for me. And just know that this competition is not about competing against each other. It’s about competing against yourself, to get better and better each week.”
