The Spring Hill Raiders (4-1, 1-1) proved their potent offense travels well with a big win at Tullahoma (0-5, 0-2) Friday.
Spring Hill’s 41-20 victory over the Wildcats raised its average points per game this season to 38.8. It was the third time in five games the Raiders have scored over 40.
Running back Dontae Smith led the way for Spring Hill offensively. His 84 yards on 13 attempts give him 840 yards in just five games this season, good for 168 yards per game. Smith also scored once on the ground Friday to raise his season total to nine TDs.
Jahmal Steele added 58 yards rushing on six attempts with a score, and Kennedy Moss and Tyler Moore scored on their only runs of the night from 40 and 4 yards out, respectively.
Quarterback TJ Ennis threw for 163 yards on 12 completions with an interception and connected with Justin Oden and Caleb Terrance for touchdowns.
Spring Hill has a bye in Week 6, and the Raiders are hoping their offense doesn’t cool down during the off week before hosting Region 4-4A foe Giles County on Sept. 30.
The Bobcats are currently tied with Spring Hill at 1-1 in the district. They are both chasing Marshall County and Page, who are at 2-0.
