Spring Hill Raiders off to 2-0 start after 36-32 win

Mount Pleasant, Tenn — Spring Hill has already doubled their win total from 2013 after holding on for a 36-32 win over Mount Pleasant.

The final score made the game seem closer than it really was as the Tigers mounted a furious comeback in the dying minutes, that fell just short. SHHS led 36-19 in the fourth quarter and had the ball at their own five yard line following an interception.

Spring Hill fumbled the football and the Tigers capitalized on the mistake, scoring from inside the one, making it a 10 point game.

MPHS made things interesting after recovering an onside kick and driving the ball down the field for another touchdown with 16 seconds left to play.

It did cut the Raider lead down to four after a failed conversion but Spring Hill was able to run out the remaining seconds to improve to 2-0.

Spring Hill jumped out the lead first but Mount Pleasant would score the games next 13 points. Their second score coming off a blocked punt that they returned for a touchdown.

The two teams would swap the lead three more times before Spring Hill quarterback, Tylin Oden, would give his team some breathing room with a 5 yard end around touchdown run. That made it 29-19 Spring Hill, which would be the score at halftime.

Spring Hill will get 8 days off before they travel to White House Heritage on September 5th.
