Franklin and Siegel play to 2-2 Draw

The Franklin Lady Rebels went to Murfreesboro to face Siegel High School, in a matchup of two top schools in the state.

The teams were evenly matched when the dust settled at Ken Nolan Stadium with a 2-2 draw.

The first goal came from a set piece as Franklin’s Callie McKinney swung the ball in from outside the box on the left side of the field. The ball soared over the head of Siegel keeper Megan Kiker, and into the net.

Later on in the first half Isabella Roberts would even the game for Siegel up after finding the ball on the right side of the box. She would dribble around the defense to the left side to shoot and put it behind the Franklin Keeper Jessica Harvey

Shortly after the second half began Franklins Delaney Griffin found the ball and taped the ball past Kiker.

Later on the game the ball found Siegel’s Madison Louk who dribbled the ball past several Franklin defenders to lay the ball into Emma Adcock for a goal to tie the game at 2-2.

The Lady Rebels continue their season on August 30th as the play St. Agnes Academy out of Memphis, at Drakes Creek.
