Well it is Thanksgiving, and Predators fans have plenty to be thankful about.
No, really. Despite being near the bottom of their division, the 13-10-2 Predators are much improved as of late.
If the team keeps playing like it has the past few weeks,Nashville just might have a National Hockey Team vying for a playoff spot.
After losing four out of the first six games in November, the Preds have now won five of the last six games.
And it is not just that they have been winning, it is how they have been winning.
They beat Chicago, its division rival and division leader at 18-4-4, by FIVE goals to start this turnaround, when they were 8-9-2.
Even if you include the 0-2 loss to the Rangers last week, the Predators have outscored their opponents 21-8 in the last two weeks.
And they play tonight, at home, against Edmonton- one of the worst teams in the league this year at 7-16-2.
Now that is something to celebrate on Thanksgiving night. One of the worst teams in the league for the Preds to sharpen their fangs on.
Look for David Legwand and Shea Weber to have big games and lead the team to a victory tonight, and on Saturday against the Flyers.
Two weeks ago, Nashville was dead last in Central division, trailing by 7 or 8 games and 15 or so points. Now it is just five games out of first place and probably only a game or two out of the playoff hunt.
The team is drastically improving, and it keeps improving. It has been a nice surprise and something to be Thankful about on this Turkey Day.
