O’More College of Design announced the formation of its Alumni Association – the first since O’More was founded nearly 50 years ago. The Association will be key in ensuring alumni remain in touch with the school, and students will have access to some of the best networking opportunities the national design industry has to offer.
At the helm of the Association as President will be Jonathan Savage, who graduated from the interior design program in 2008 and is the founder of award-winning SAVAGE Interior Design.
Other representatives of the Alumni Association include:
Phyllis Avant (’86), Vice President, founder of Phyllis Avant Interiors
Alex Fortney (’11), Officer, Freelance Designer and Art Director, formerly of Marbaloo Marketing and Warner Music Group
Maarika Mann (’13), Officer, Product Developer at BANDED and Freelance Fashion Designer
O’More College of Design also plans to establish undergraduate and graduate programs in architecture, the first ever to be offered by an institution of higher learning in Middle Tennessee.
The college, which currently offers four-year undergraduate degrees in fashion, fashion marketing, graphic design and interior design, is creating the architecture program to infuse needed talent into the burgeoning building and design environment in Middle Tennessee.
The architecture program will be located in a yet-to-be-determined location in Nashville, marking O’More’s first expansion beyond its Franklin campus. It will launch with a post-professional degree in architecture in the fall of 2017, followed by a four-year undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in architecture, and then the first professional degree in two to three years.
