Williamson County police officers and community members gathered from all around the county on Monday evening to honor their fellow officers that were killed in the line of duty.
A special ceremony was held at the Franklin Theater with a speech by Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn, and families of fallen officers placed a rose in remembrance in a rose ceremony.
The greater Williamson County area has had six officers killed in the line of duty since 1919.
A procession down Main St. to Franklin’s square followed the ceremony at the Franklin Theater to the tune of Taps. A 21-gun salute was given, a prayer was offered and officers names were read to the crowd while the American flag waved solemnly over the square.
