Kathie Lee Gifford Will Be Honorary Chair for Southern Women in Film & Television Conference

Nashville Women in Film & Television has announced that the Southern Women in Film & Television Summit (SWIFT) is returning to Nashville on June 21st, and industry icons, Kathie Lee Gifford and Jennifer O’Neill will lend their support to the event by serving as Honorary Chairs. The conference, which will take place at the Millennium Maxwell Hotel, will once again feature lectures, panel discussions, screenings and one-on-one sessions with industry professionals.

“With dynamic professional women like Kathie Lee Gifford and Jennifer O’Neill as our Honorary Chairs, our event is certain to be a huge success,” exclaims WIFT President, Lynda Evjen.  “Both of these women have worked hard to have such amazing careers, while giving back to their community and the world! They understand our industry and what it takes to make things happen! I admire them both and have had the great honor of working with Jennifer many years ago, and it is thrilling to know that both of these incredible women support our efforts in the industry!”

Kathie Lee Gifford has enjoyed a diverse and successful four-decade career as a television host, actress, singer, playwright, songwriter, and author. Though best known for her 15 years on Regis and Kathie Lee – for which she earned 11 Emmy nominations, and as the three-time Emmy-winning co-host of the fourth hour of the Today Show with Hoda Kotb, Gifford has always pursued projects which inspire and challenge her. She has recently moved to Nashville and is already working on a number of film-related projects.

Jennifer O’Neill is an acclaimed model, actress, film and television star, spokesperson, producer and director, author, fundraiser, and President & Founder of charitable endeavor Hope and Healing at Hillenglade.   She has appeared in thirty-five plus feature films, including Rio Lobo with John Wayne and Summer of ‘42, and numerous television shows.  She has added speaking engagements to her roster of talents and shares her faith, her charitable pursuits and life’s experiences with a passion, humor and enthusiasm that resonates with all generations.

The Southern Women in Film & Television Summit debuted in 2018 to rave reviews and unparalleled educational and networking opportunities. Nearly 200 people attended the Summit. This year, in addition to two days of industry panels, workshops, and networking events, the confab will feature a number of special events including a celebrity runway show, showcasing fashions by Project Runway alum, Johnathan Kayne and an awards gala celebrating talented women in all arenas of entertainment.

Sunday, June 23rd will focus on actors, with an intensive one-day “Actor-Com” featuring workshops, and training sessions with casting directors, acting and vocal coaches and more.

The event will also feature a female centric exhibit hall, which will be open June 21st and 22nd.
