Franklin Police Reminder

The Franklin Police want to remind you that leaving children unattended in the car is not only dangerous but a misdemeanor. Hundreds of children have died after being left unattended in car seats since 1990.

It may be difficult, cumbersome and slow to remove your child from the car seat just long enough to run in and get a prescription or a gallon of milk, but in Tennessee it is a requirement. A minimum fine of $200 and a class-B misdemeanor on your record is not worth an ounce of convenience.

Recently a 25 year old Franklin mom was issued a citation for running inside the gas station leaving her infant in the car. Play it safe and help Franklin Police protect our greatest asset, our children.
