Arrest Warrant Issued for Franklin Man from Saturday’s Nashville Riot

UPDATE 6-5-220 – According to Fox17 Nashville Metro Police released late Thursday evening that Daniel Lane, 22, of Franklin, surrendered to the Davidson County Detention Center for booking on warrants. He is charged with aggravated rioting and felony vandalism related to Saturday’s riots in Nashville.

UPDATE 6-5-2020 – According to WSMV, 25-year-old Wesley Somers was arrested on charges of felony arson, vandalism and disorderly conduct for setting the fire.

UPDATE 4:50 PM – After a review of additional information from last Saturday, some of which was just received this afternoon, the MNPD and District Attorney General Glenn Funk agree that the arrest warrants issued last night against Justin-Bautista-Jones and Janeisha Harris will be recalled for the present.

Arrest warrants charging felony aggravated rioting have been issued against three individuals for their actions in severely damaging an MNPD patrol car outside the Central Precinct Saturday as a crowd estimated to have been at least 200 was present.

The vehicle, a 2018 Ford, may be a total loss pending a report from a damage estimator.

The warrants name Daniel Lane, 22, of Franklin, who was photographed spray painting the car, Justin Bautista-Jones, 24, of Nashville, who was photographed walking on the vehicle damaging it, and Jeneisha C. Harris, 23, who was also photographed walking on the car, contributing to the damage.

Officers will be working to arrest Lane, Jones and Harris on the outstanding warrants.

A total of 18 MNPD vehicles were damaged during the protest Saturday; 11 of the 18 remain out of service.

The MNPD is grateful to the Nashville community for the scores of tips and photographs being submitted through Crime Stoppers (615-742-7463) or the special email address created to receive information, [email protected].  Detectives from a number of components are a part of the joint investigation to identify those responsible for criminal acts last Saturday and are reviewing a large amount of surveillance video and photographs.

Arrested over the past several days in connection with damaging the Historic Courthouse are convicted felon Wesley Somers, 25, who is charged with aggravated arson, vandalism and disorderly conduct in the state system, and destruction of property using fire in the federal system; Jesse Lee Clark, 26, who is charged with aggravated arson, vandalism and disorderly conduct for breaking windows and helping Somers ignite materials; convicted felon Tondrique Fitzgerald, 23, who is charged with aggravating rioting and vandalism for engaging with others to pull a granite civil rights plaque off the courthouse wall (the plaque was smashed into pieces); and Vincent Hamer, 18, who is charged with aggravated rioting and vandalism for using objects to break at least two windows at the courthouse.
