Visit Mule Day 2017

Columbia, Tennessee is known as the Mule capital of the world. Each year they celebrate the past with Mule Day. Mules played an important part in Maury County’s economy during the 1800’s and early 1900’s. This year the celebration started on Monday and goes through April 2.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy including the big Mule Day Parade on Saturday at 11 a.m. through downtown Columbia. Some of the other highlights include arts and craft shows, live music, mule races, a log loading competition and more.

For food, there is going to be concessions with roasted corn, pizza, sausage, funnel cakes, and more. 1st Methodist Church downtown will serve homemade chili and desserts. Riverside United Methodist Church is having a fish dinner and bake sale. Other food events include a pancake breakfast, country ham breakfast, and the Polk Home Garden Party for the 7th Annual Bloodys & Biscuits.

For music, there are live performances all weekend featuring: Tony Malugin, Katie Stewart and Logan Blade Friday 6:30 p.m., Saturday Evening Clogging & Live Music Saturday 6:00 p.m., Blue Grass Music Fest Thursday 7:00 p.m., Worship Service Sunday 9:00 a.m. Sunday and Gospel Singing – Sunday at noon.
