The Crossing Golf Course Purchased by Local, PGA Ownership from American Golf Corp

Franklin Bridge Golf Club

New ownership has acquired The Crossing Golf Course, located at 750 Riverview Drive, Franklin, TN 37064, and is proud to begin the next chapter under a new name, Franklin Bridge Golf Club. The public, daily-fee golf course is named after the historic bridge on site that crosses the beautiful Harpeth River only a few miles from storied downtown Franklin.

Formerly and most commonly known as Forrest Crossing Golf Course, the course has been purchased by golf industry professional Brooks West, PGA and a dynamic team of local investor partners. After more than 15 years of successful ownership, American Golf sold the property as part of its strategic corporate direction under parent company, DriveShack, Inc.
New owner and operator, Brooks West, is a Mississippi native who has lived in Nashville for nearly 10 years. A PGA Professional since 2004 with more than 20 years of golf industry experience, Brooks has worked a wide variety of roles in the golf industry prior to his purchase of Franklin Bridge. He graduated from Mississippi State’s acclaimed Professional Golf Management Program and is an accomplished player winning the 2007 Gulf States PGA Professional Championship. He would go on to caddy on both the PGA TOUR and Web.com Tour, highlighted by a win on Jerod Turner’s bag at the 2009 Soboba Classic, Rickie Fowler’s professional debut. His green-grass golf operations experience span from Belle Meade Country Club (Nashville, TN) to The Country Club (Brookline, MA) and Dorado Beach Resort & Club (Dorado, Puerto Rico). Most recently, West worked in Golf Car Fleet Sales for the Yamaha Golf-Car Company (Kennesaw, GA) for 8 years as a District, Regional and National Sales Manager – U.S. Dealer and Direct Fleet Sales.

West views this exciting new acquisition as an opportunity to serve Williamson County and surrounding areas, noting, “Franklin Bridge is far more than just a busy golf course as one of the only 18-hole public championship courses south of the booming Nashville market. I feel a duty to serve the families and residents of Williamson County by creating a dynamic golf experience that brings people together in community through outdoor recreation with one another.” Part of that duty is restoring and honoring the rich history of what was originally a beautiful farm split by a county road where School buses traveled across the famed bridge taking Franklin’s future leaders back and forth to school. New ownership will use that same quaint bridge with a new fleet of golf cars crossing its stately trestle to fulfill a deep commitment of creating a customer-centric golf experience that is friendly and welcoming for beginners, women, juniors and the entire family, breaking down many of the traditional barriers present at many golf courses. Improvements will include:

  • Vigorous commitment to improved pace of play
  • New golf car fleet
  • Renovated restrooms, entryway and golf shop
  • Comprehensive Player Development Program, targeting juniors, women and beginners
  • Flexible membership options and expanded loyalty programs
  • Reversed layout, finishing on the signature Par-4 island green framed by the plantation-style clubhouse
  • Opened sight lines between holes for enhanced Harpeth River vistas
  • Improved course conditions, including lower and more-playable rough heights

These improvements and many more to be announced soon have a primary goal for West: “unofficially, we aim to make #TheBridge Williamson County’s ‘Public Country Club’ over time where we engage this thriving community beyond just an 18-hole round of golf. Food & Beverage enhancements, after-school programs, neighborhood movie nights, 4th of July Celebrations, kids’ birthday parties and live music are just some of the ways we will add value and excitement to this special community.”
