Tennessee Soccer Club hosted its first tournament of the year last weekend, welcoming nearly 300 teams to The Battleground Tournament of Champions (BTOC).

The tournament features boys and girls teams from U9 through U19 age groups. All teams are guaranteed a minimum of three games throughout the weekend.

The BTOC, which has seen tremendous growth in the last several years, is one of the largest fall tournaments in the region and serves as a great start to the fall season for many teams. This year teams from 58 different youth clubs across six different states (Alabama, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio and Tennessee) traveled to Williamson County to participate in the event.

“It was great to experience another year of growth with The Battleground,” said TSC Tournament Director and Event Coordinator Jimmy Drain. “There were some new teams in attendance which is always important, and we were excited to welcome lots of returning clubs and teams as well. Hopefully that is a sign that the players, coaches and families are having a good experience year after year.”

The BTOC event sees teams playing Friday through Sunday in Brentwood and Franklin at Crockett Park and Williamson County Soccer Complex, respectively. More than 30 fields are utilized between the two facilities to accommodate throughout the weekend.

“We want to bill our tournaments as more than just Tennessee Soccer Club events, but as Williamson County events,” said TSC Director of Marketing and Development Taylor Johnson. “There is certainly a consistent presence of teams from the Greater Nashville area that participate, but we always welcome thousands of visitors from out of town who travel to Williamson County specifically to participate in our events. The partners and vendors throughout our community that work with us during each of our tournaments are integral pieces to the puzzle.”

TSC’s next major tournament is the Tennessee Invitational (TNI), held each year in May at several facilities in Brentwood and Franklin.
