Those who scored a wealth of curated vintage, antique, and artisan goods at last year’s City Farmhouse Pop-Up Show can rejoice! Renowned “pickers” David and Kim Leggett are bringing back the second annual event to Franklin, Tenn., come Oct. 17-18, 2014—but this time the pair is hosting the design and shopping show at the stunning “lost-in-time” gardens and mansion of the late music publisher Buddy Killen, located off Old Hillsboro Road.
Last year, the two-day event attracted an impressive crowd of local and national vintage aficionados to Historic Downtown Franklin. The popularity of the inaugural City Farmhouse Pop-Up Show can largely be attributed to the Leggetts’ trained eyes and vivacious personalities that have attracted a following from around the globe: the couple’s popular antique shop, City Farmhouse, has accumulated more than 70,000 fans on Facebook—a number that grows by the thousands each week.
To generate even more excitement leading up to the 2014 event, the Leggetts recently announced that Nina Hartmann, a Swedish interior stylist, designer and author, will headline the City Farmhouse Pop-Up Show as a celebrity guest.
This will mark the first time that Hartmann, who holds a worldwide following because of her popular “VintagebyNina” books and blog, will appear in the United States. Her unique eye for design and antique goods has made her one of the most sought-after designers in Europe, and Leggett says the fervor around Hartmann’s participation continues to build as the word gets out.
“To have Nina as a guest at the show is huge, and those who love vintage and antiques recognize what an honor it is to have her in Franklin, Tenn., ” said Kim Leggett. “She’s an international super star in the design world, and we’re excited to have her bring her expertise to our guests at the Second Annual City Farmhouse Pop-Up Show.”
Known for inspiring a ”junk de luxe” lifestyle, Hartmann’s vintage picks and flea market finds have been featured in publications and documentaries in spots that dot the map. The famous persona has also authored three best-selling design books published in 20 countries worldwide, and will soon release her fourth, A Winter’s Tale. Those who shop at the 2014 pop-up show can expect to find the most unusual in handpicked selections spanning all era and styles: farmhouse, French, architectural, garden, lighting,industrial, Americana and much more. In addition, handmade jewelry designed and repurposed from found objects will be a unique feature to the show. Plus, there will be book signings, live music, food trucks, how to’s and more. A complete list of vendors will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event.
Tickets for early buying—9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17—are $25 per person. Regular show admission is $10 per day, or $15 for a weekend pass.
