UPDATE: Just an hour after being added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Top Ten Most Wanted list Thursday afternoon, fugitive John Lamb was arrested in Rutherford County.
Lamb was arrested around 3 p.m. Thursday. He was spotted walking down Old Nashville Highway by officers with the La Vergne police department and they were able to take him into custody, with assistance from deputies with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.

The La Vergne Police Department is currently seeking a child rape suspect who was caught in the act by a relative. When that relative called 911, the suspect left the scene. We have conducted an extensive manhunt utilizing patrol, SWAT, K9s, detectives, and forensic mantrackers to no avail. We are seeking the public’s help in locating and arresting the suspect.
The suspect is John E. Lamb III. He is a white male, 36 years of age, balding with closely shaven sides and rear of the head, approximately 6’2, 208lbs, & was described as last wearing a white tank top shirt, black and gray sweater, blue jeans covered with white paint, timberland boots (yellow w/ white soles), and a dark blue baseball cap.
Lamb has a criminal history that includes assault, terroristic threats, & escape. No vehicles are registered to him nor have we received information regarding any vehicle that he normally uses. We don’t have any information regarding a direction of travel or a potential destination at this point, but he has connections to several portions of southern Kentucky.
Lamb has threatened the lives of the victim and the victim’s family as well as law enforcement during this incident. Anyone with information that would lead to Lamb’s arrest should contact either the La Vergne Police Department (615-793-7744) or Rutherford County Crime Stoppers (615-893-7867).
Southern Kentucky Man is Latest Addition to TBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted List
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has a new addition to the state’s Top Ten Most Wanted list, John Everett Lamb, III.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of John Everett Lamb is urged to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND (1-800-824-3463). There is a $1,000 reward being offered for information leading to his arrest.
