Franklin Parks Preps for Family Day

Join the City of Franklin Parks Saturday, Oct. 3, for a day of free farm fun! The Park at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin will host its annual Family Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sponsors for the event will be accepted through Friday, Sept. 18.

Family Day is a one-day fall festival designed to inspire families to connect to the FAMILY DAY FIXFranklin community by enjoying the parks, engaging with nature, and celebrating the rich history of the area, according to the City of Franklin web site. In its ninth year, Family Day draws families from all over Middle Tennessee on the first Saturday of October and includes many opportunities for kids and their families on the farm. Activities comprise of hay rides, miniature train rides, pony rides, a petting zoo, inflatables, cane pole fishing, games, crafts, prizes, photo opportunities, and more.

There will also be live performances from local musicians, culinary samples from local restaurants and food vendors to add to the relaxed outdoor experience. Sponsors and community businesses offer a variety of interactive Farm Stops, as well, designed to engage and expose youth in the community to all types of active farm fun.

The 9th Annual Family Day Celebration is presented by the City of Franklin Parks
Department. The Park at Harlinsdale Farm is a Franklin Landmark established in 1935— it as a passive park, maintaining, and protecting the history of the farm and offers walking/running paths, a catch and release pond, a dog park, a children’s garden, and a venue for various public and private events.
