Luke Bryan Issues an Apology

Luke Bryan has issued an apology to Waylon Jennings’ son. It all began when Bryan caused quite a stir over a comment he made to a reporter stating, “I’m not an outlaw country singer,” adding, “I don’t do cocaine and run around. So I’m not going to sing outlaw country.” Bryan goes on to say,“I think that people who want Merle, Willie and Waylon just need to buy Merle, Willie and Waylon.”

It wasn’t long for before there was a heated debate in social media with  Kathy Pinkerman who is married to Waylon Jennings son, posted a message on her Facebook, “You are a platinum, disrespecting, no singing, whining, grasping for media attention, a–hole. Use your platform for something good, instead of bashing the LEGENDS that came before you.”

Shooter Jennings told the LA Times that Bryan had phoned his mother, Jessie Colter, to apologize.“Luke Bryan called my mom today to clarify that he would never disrespect my dad or me or any of us,” Jennings said.“While I support my family obviously, personally the whole thing didn’t make a difference to me. I’ve had my fair share of words being twisted and articles being sliced and diced. So I figured it was that,” Jennings goes on to say.

Bryan took to Twitter with a response:

On a different note, Luke Bryan just celebrated his 39th birthday while in St. Louis on the “Kick The Dust Up” tour.  Bryan told Taste of Country that his wife gets really creative with his birthday cakes.  On Twitter, Bryan tweeted a picture of this year’s cake.
