Upgrade Your Pumpkin Spice Latte

The Pumpkin Spice Latte is officially back at Starbucks locations everywhere. And that means we’re ready to start customizing! Don’t get us wrong, we love the classic PSL the way it is. But in this writer’s humble opinion, the best part about Starbucks drinks is that you can change them to your liking. So, after you’ve started out a few mornings with the regular PSL, try ordering one of the below hacks just to change things up. From making it chocolaty to going iced, we’ve got enough kooky ideas to last you until the holiday lattes make their comeback.

1. Turn It Into A Pumpkin Pie Latte

In our experience, adding hazelnut syrup to any Starbucks beverage makes it taste like the cake or pie version of whatever the base flavor is. So, take your PSL a step further and turn it into a pumpkin PIE latte with a few pumps of hazelnut syrup.

2. Go All-Out Iced

Sure, you can ask for an iced version of a PSL, or even a Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino. But to make things even crazier, ask for an Iced Caramel Macchiato with PSL sauce instead of vanilla syrup. Trust us, you’ll have a new go-to, at least while it’s still warm out.

3. Go Tropical

It might sound weird at first, but pumpkin and coconut are actually really tasty together. Add coconut syrup to your classic PSL, and ask for coconut milk.

4. Make It Nutty

If you’ve had a Salted Caramel Frappuccino or a Toffee Nut Mocha, you’re already a fan of Starbucks’ toffee nut syrup. You can also use it to transform the flavor of your PSL into a cross between pumpkin and pecan pie, with the addition of toffee nut syrup to the latte and a drizzle of caramel over the whipped cream.

5. Drop The Espresso

Sometimes, we want the comfort of a late-afternoon PSL without having to be up all night thanks to the espresso. For a less caffeinated version, ask for a Chai Latte with PSL sauce. Plus, it’s double the cozy fall flavors.
