1. Music in the Grove

WHAT: A Brentwood end-of-summer tradition, Music in the Grove returns for the fourth time this year with a free concert and family festival at East Brentwood Presbyterian Church. EBPC is conveniently located at the corner of Concord Road and Wilson Pike at 9000 Concord Rd. Free parking is available onsite.
Families are invited to bring blankets or chairs and a picnic lunch to enjoy a variety of talented musicians and entertainers from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3, with music beginning at 2:30. Family-friendly activities including a musical petting zoo by Sky Studios and a Family Fun Zone will add to the fun.
Headlining the event is Route 40, a sonically progressive, bluegrass fusion band, hailing from Nashville. Joining Route 40 is multi-genre pianist Nate Strasser and his band who play everything from the blues, jazz, movie scores and more. The Next Door Boys are a five-piece band made of local Brentwood students.
The tree-filled, shaded grounds of the church include a large fenced-in playground and restrooms which will be available to all concertgoers. Guests are encouraged to bring only one car per family. Hammocks and picnic baskets are welcomed.

2. WMOT Radio Concert at Westhaven

WHAT: On Sunday, September 2, WMOT Roots Radio will present its Wired In concert on the Great Lawn at Westhaven, 401 Cheltenham Ave., in Franklin.
Chuck Mead & His Grassy Knoll Boys, The War & Treaty, Carolina Story and The Watson Twins will perform at this special birthday edition of Wired In. Gates open at 3:00 p.m. and the music begins at 4:00 p.m.
A limited number of $20 tickets are available for purchase. This event is open to all ages. Food and drink will be available for purchase; several food trucks will be on-site. Parking is free. Attendees should bring blankets or lawn chairs.
Westhaven is a traditional neighborhood design community in Franklin. A variety of festivals and events occur throughout the year for residents and the community, including an ongoing songwriter series and the Porchfest music and arts festival.

3. Movie Gang Presents Labyrinth

WHAT: How far would you travel to save your sibling? Or just to meet David Bowie? Jareth The Goblin King just stole Toby, Sarah’s baby brother. Sarah (played by the awesome Jennifer Connely) has until midnight to find her way through the tricky Labyrinth and get to the castle in the center of Goblin City before midnight or her baby brother turns into a goblin! A timeless movie filled with music, magic, and art created by the legendary Jim Henson. What better way to experience this adventure than at the Franklin Theatre with the Movie Gang. Not only will you see this 80’s classic back on the big screen, Movie Gang also invited 3 of their favorite local artists and will be hosting an art show inspired by the film in the lobby. Triple Crown Bakery in Franklin, TN will be giving out free custom cookies honoring the Goblin King Jareth himself. Plus HOGGLE the jewelry hoarder and thief from the film is passing out free RING POPS. Purchase tickets online here.

4. Leipers Fork Still House Sessions

WHAT: Backstage Nashville & Leiper’s Fork Distillery is proud to present The Still House Sessions, V1, Session 8.31 an intimate night with top songwriters and their incredible music on August 31st.
Seating is limited. Only 120. General Admission is $35/tickets. The VIP Experience is $60/ticket. The VIP Experience has reserved seating, a private whiskey tasting, meet & greet with the songwriters along with a signed poster and a waiter throughout the evening for your drink orders. 5. Maury County Fair

WHAT: It’s the annual Maury County Fair this weekend. Enjoy family fun on rides, see all of the exhibits, hear local musical acts, tractor pull, motorcross and more. Gates open at 4 p until midnight. Free parking is availalbe on site. Admission – Adults 13 and older $10, Kids 7 – 12, $5 and children 6 and under are free.
