Westhaven Foundation Hosts Songwriter Night Sunday

The Westhaven Foundation will host a songwriter night, “An Intimate Evening,” at the Westhaven Residents’ Club on Sunday, August 14 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Tickets, available here, cost $15 and will benefit Franklin 4 the Cure, an annual fundraiser for pediatric cancer research at Monroe Carroll Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

At the event, well-known songwriters Greg Friia, Scott Reeves and Pete Sallis will perform. Songwriter Greg Friia relocated from Maryland to Nashville in 2001. Throughout his career, artists Bonnie Tyler, Richie McDonald, Eric Paslay, Brady Seals and LoCASH have recorded his songs. Friia currently writes for Sea the Desert Entertainment.

Best known for writing Toby Keith’s hit “Made in America” and his roles on “Young and the Restless” and “General Hospital,” Scott Reeves will take the stage on Sunday to play his most popular songs. Reeves had a recurring role on ABC’s “Nashville” as music producer Noel Laughlin. He now plays with rock group, Port Chuck.

Pete Sallis grew up in Chicago, but moved to Nashville after high school and attended Belmont University. After college, Sallis spent 10 years drumming for different artists including Bob Carlilse, Michael English, Tim Rushlow and many more. He now writes for Shakes Spear Music.
