It’s rodeo time again in Williamson County and your first peek at the show is on Saturday, May 11th as the Annual Franklin Rodeo Parade returns. Entry forms are available for those wanting to join in the parade. Check out the new parade route for this year.
There is also a change in line-up. The parade will start at 11th Avenue in Franklin, instead of 5th Avenue, and entries will line up in parking lots. Once streets are closed, entries will move to the streets. “We’re working for a better parade,” said rodeo executive director Bill Fitzgerald, “to make it easier and safer for everybody involved.” They are expecting 75-100 entrants in this year’s parade. “We have lots of different things, from horse entries, to Boy Scout and Girl Scout Groups, children’s youth groups, and bands from middle and high schools.”
The Rodeo Round-Up Party Casino Night on May 3rd precedes the parade, but the parade is the unofficial “kick-off” for rodeo week. “It’s a great way to generate excitement,” Fitzgerald said. “It draws everybody in. We get more people involved in that.” Entry forms for the parade may be found at the rodeo’s website; click on the parade tab on the left. The parade is free and begins at Noon on May 11th.
