Franklin Christian Academy (FCA) is moving up in Tennessee high school athletics this year as it joins the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) in the fall, backed by strong support from Middle Tennessee AMSI dealerships and local business leader Jason Stacy.
The move to TSSAA marks a significant milestone for FCA, reflecting the school’s growth and development in recent years. As one of Tennessee’s emerging private schools, FCA will join a network of 426 high schools in the TSSAA, opening new doors for competitive opportunities and increased visibility in the state’s athletic landscape.
“The transition to TSSAA is a result of FCA’s growth in both size and athletic capabilities but, most importantly, will provide our student-athletes the opportunity to compete at the highest levels.” says Athletic Director, K.C. Jorgensen . Through steady progress, FCA’s athletic programs have reached a level where they can effectively compete within the larger TSSAA framework, moving up from their current position in the Tennessee State Independent Athletic Association (TSIAA) where FCA won multiple state championships in football, basketball, soccer and volleyball!.
Supporting this ambitious transition is a partnership with Nissan and Hyundai of Cool Springs, led by Jason Stacy. The partnership aligns with FCA’s three foundational pillars: Challenging Academics, Life-Giving Community, and Transforming Discipleship.
The school’s commitment to these principles has yielded impressive results. FCA graduates consistently gain admission to top-tier universities across the Southeast and beyond, demonstrating the school’s academic rigor. The institution’s dedication to community service is evident in its Week Without Walls program, where 100% of students participate in experiential learning and transformative service projects both domestically and internationally each spring.
In athletics, over 80% of FCA students participate in sports programs, complementing the school’s three award-winning annual Fine Arts productions. “We firmly believe some of the best moments to instill lasting faith and character occur on athletic fields, courts, and fine arts stages,” states Head of School, Hugh Harris
The dealerships’ support comes at a crucial time as FCA prepares for this significant transition. Plans are already underway to enhance the school’s athletic facilities, including the construction of a new weight room and additional sports facilities, ensuring student-athletes have the resources they need to compete at the TSSAA level.
This expansion builds upon FCA’s existing campus, which was thoughtfully designed to create an environment conducive to learning and community building. The school’s facilities feature modern amenities like roll-up classroom doors that connect indoor and outdoor spaces, reclaimed barn-wood floors, and an emphasis on natural light and open spaces that reflect FCA’s values of transparency and authenticity.
The partnership with Nissan and Hyundai of Cool Springs and Jason Stacy extends beyond athletics, supporting FCA’s holistic approach to education. “Having passionate advocates like Mr. Stacy can make all the difference in bringing initiatives like this to life,” notes the school administration, expressing gratitude for the dealerships’ support in advancing their sports and educational missions.
The move to TSSAA is expected to provide FCA with several key advantages, including access to a broader range of competitive opportunities, enhanced visibility within Tennessee high school athletics, and alignment with TSSAA’s comprehensive approach to coordinating athletic and scholastic programs.
The partnership between FCA and Nissan and Hyundai of Cool Springs exemplifies how community support can help educational institutions reach new heights while staying true to their core values and mission. As FCA prepares for its 2025-2026 TSSAA debut, the school continues to build on its foundation of academic excellence, community engagement, and athletic achievement.
