Halloween Happenings: 7 Suggestions for Haunted Woods or Tricky Cornmazes

Here is a list of places in Williamson County where you can go to be scared or find fun corn mazes and hayrides to go on, some spooky and some more wholesome.

Haunted Woods: Trail of Fears

Details: Haunted cemetery, a log church, two mazes, other abandoned buildings with ghosts and goblins, a 300-foot mine shaft, a covered bridge and the Texas Chain Saw Massacre house; very scary

Creepy Hollow Haunted Woods

When: Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.through November 2
Cost: $15 per person

Details: Haunted trails, nightly bonfire, music, refreshments, 10 acres featuring Clayton’s Cave;scary but probably more young-child friendly than Millers Thrillers or Trail of Fears

Millers Thrillers

When: 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.  Fridays and Saturdays through November 2 (open also on Thursday the 31st)
Cost: $5 general admission; $15 for Haunted Woods; $20 for Zombie Paintball Hayride; $30 Combo

Haunted-Trails-of-HorrorFranklin Parks and Recreation Haunted Trails of Horror

When: 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. October 23 and 24
Cost: $5 per person (cash only); kids under 3 are free

Details: Haunted trail, hayrides, music,  showing “Carrie” as a drive-in movie, dancing; this is the last year for the  event; very family friendly but still scary

Gentry’s Farm

When: Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Mondays from 9 a.m. to noon
Cost: $7 per person (kids under 2 free)

Haunted Forest: Carnival of Lost Souls by the Fairview Parks Department

When: October 25 and 26 only, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Cost: $10 per person (cash only)

Details: Haunted trail with evil clowns, the Elephant Man, a Sword Swallower, a Fortune Teller, among other mysterious and scary creatures

Rippavilla Corn MazeRippavilla Cornmaze

When: Fridays from 3p-11p, Saturdays from 10a-11p and Sundays from 12p-6p, open through Oct 27th
Cost: $7 for kids 13 years of age and older, $5 for children 6-12 years, children 5 and under are free

Details: 10-acre corn maze, with  informational signs located throughout the maze that are full of facts, historic map illustrations and photos; thanks to the National Park Service. Admission includes maze, hayride and play area.
There is a special Family Fun Day on Oct 26 from 12p-11p. The first half of the day will include carnival games (until 5p) and later that evening, guests can get spooked by checking out the haunted maze or listening to scary stories around the fire from 7p to 11p
