All-American Franklin restaurant Ground is opening a second restaurant in Franklin. Currently, you can find Ground at 330 Mayfield Drive.
Recently, they teased their Facebook followers with a post indicating that a new restaurant is on the horizon.
We spoke to Ground owner Matthew Gonzales who revealed to us that Ground will open a second location at 1409 West Main Street in Franklin.
Gonzales explains why he chose to open in West Franklin:
“I actually don’t live very far from this spot. I know that if you don’t want to go to Downtown Franklin and you live over here there aren’t very many options. I wanted to capture the people who feel the same as I do, especially when you’re in a hurry. We also are very family friendly and felt that it would be a great fit as the baseball and soccer fields being so close.”
There’s not an exact open date but Gonzales says it will be open summer 2018.
At the new location, they plan to offer dine-in, carry-out, catering with a delivery option as well. In addition, there are plans for a Ground food truck to handle the many requests they receive for offsite events.
“We are very excited about everything going on right now with Ground,” says Gonzales.
Ground opened their Mayfield Drive restaurant three years ago. The fast-casual restaurant offers an expansive menu of burgers, baked potatoes, and salads. They also have other options such as shrimp po-boys and chicken tenders and chicken sandwiches.
“We are always trying out new food and running them as monthly rotating specials. I try to have a little something for everyone. I don’t want a group or family to go out and have that one person say I can’t or don’t want to eat there. We make our dressings from scratch and use the fresh approach in just about everything we do,” said Gonzales.
