Former Tennessee Titans star Albert Haynesworth was removed from the Brentwood High School gymnasium after an alleged altercation with his son on Friday evening.

Two Williamson County Sheriff officers officers escorted Haynesworth from the gym.

Haynesworth’s son, a starter on the Centennial High team, had been going through warm-ups with his teammates before the Cougars’ game at Brentwood. The two were in the hallway about 75 feet from the Brentwood girls’ locker room when the incident occurred, which happened just minutes before tip-off.

One to two minutes later, two security officers appeared in the hallway. After words were exchanged, officers escorted Haynesworth from campus, apparently without further incident.

Officers on the scene were not authorized to comment on the incident, which was captured on yet-to-be-released video. We have reached out to WCSO for comment.

The former University of Tennessee star was a first-round pick of the Titans in 2002. He played for the team until 2008 until spending the next two seasons with the Washington Redskins, before finishing his career in 2011 with the Patriots and Buccaneers.

  1. I’m not sure why the writer felt the need to include the student’s name in this. This seems especially unnecessary and mean-spirited.
