Spring Hill resident Matt Fitterer has announced his candidacy for the open Alderman seat in Spring Hill’s second ward. Fitterer has filed his qualifying petition with the Maury County Board of Elections and will appear on the ballot April 9, 2015.
“Spring Hill is a wonderful community, and I’m proud to call it my home. We are all blessed to live here, and as Alderman I’ll protect our community. There are opportunities for improvements that will benefit our local economy and quality of life. Creating additional employment opportunities in our city and making roadway improvements will be my focus as Alderman.
I am a problem solver. My full-time job demands that I find solutions to complex problems that benefit all individuals, develop best practices, and produce best outcomes not just for today and tomorrow, but for years to come. I’m excited for the opportunity to serve Spring Hill and find solutions that will enrich our town.”
Fitterer is currently the Chair of the Spring Hill Planning Commission. During his time serving on the Planning Commission, Fitterer has focused his attention on facilitating infrastructure improvements, protecting Spring Hill from adverse projects, and bringing new employers to Spring Hill. He pledged to continue this work as Alderman.
“In the past six months alone, we have ensured developers make improvements to Beechcroft Road, New Port Royal Road, Hwy 31, Commonwealth Drive, and Reserve Blvd. These improvements include everything from right of way dedication to full road construction without spending city money. I recognize that we have a long way to go, and I’ll keep working to continue making improvements.
Adoption of the Spring Hill’s Major Thoroughfare Plan, a comprehensive land use plan update, updates to zoning ordinances, creation of Planning Commission bylaws, and the development of an access management policy are also recent steps we have taken to ensure Spring Hill is in a better position moving forward.
We will welcome new employers in Magna, Comprehensive Logistics, and Hampton Inn to town this year. In addition, you’ll begin to see development occur along Saturn Parkway and away from Highway 31.
It’s dawn in Spring Hill. Our best days are in front of us, and I am excited to provide the leadership we need to reach our collective goals.”
Fitterer is a managing partner in JPVantage; a private Healthcare Management consulting firm that guides hospitals, surgery centers and medical practices through the complex regulations and challenges of our healthcare system.
