BOWLING: Area teams reach regional tournament

Three area bowling teams advanced to the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association’s state tournament this week as boys squads from Summit and Brentwood, along with Franklin’s girls team are matches away from a state title.

Summit, who finished the regular season 14-0, won the Division I Region 5 tournament and will face Region 6 runner up White House Jan. 19 at Franklin Lanes. Games begin at 9 a.m.

Brentwood was Region 5’s runner up and will compete against Region 6 winner Clarksville Academy Jan. 19 at 3 p.m. in Clarksville’s The Pinnacle Lanes.

The Franklin girls won their Region 5 tournament and now go up against Region 6 runner up White House Jan. 17 at Tusculum Lanes at 10 a.m.

Eight bowlers in Division I qualified for the Individual State Tournament.
