Update 3:31pm – East bound lanes have now been reopened.
According to Channel 4 WSMV the THP has confirmed one person was killed in a fatal crash involving a TDOT vehicle on State Route 840. The two-vehicle wreck happened around 9:30 a.m. Monday in the eastbound lanes at mile marker 27, which is at the exit for Columbia Pike.
A TDOT employee was injured and taken to the hospital. There is no word on the employee’s condition. The person killed in the crash was a passenger in the other vehicle. Officials have not released the victim’s name.
Motorists are being diverted to alternate routes.
