Poplar Grove Elementary also has good news as Dr. Darwin Mason Jr. takes the assistant principal position. The school interview team was very happy to recommend Mason and he hit the ground running on the first day of school.
“We are so happy to have Dr. Mason on staff at Poplar Grove Elementary,” said Principal Lee Kirkpatrick. “His experience with technology integration and his natural rapport with the teachers, students and parents is outstanding.”
Mason has experience in Metro Nashville public schools and spent the last 4 years at Ensworth teaching history, geography and coaching basketball and track. He received a bachelor’s from Fisk and his masters from TSU before attending Lipscomb for the doctorate in Educational Administration. “Relationship building is one of his strongest attributes and Poplar Grove parents, students and faculty will find a friend and advocate in him,” said Kirkpatrick.
