Fall sports are coming to a finish as student athletes test their seasons of training and team building at the district, region, and state levels.

cpa-girls-soccerThe girls soccer team advanced through playoffs as District, Region, and Section Champions to the State Quarterfinal game. Falling to Chattanooga Christian in penalty kicks after four overtimes, the Lions ended a well-fought season centered around the theme of endurance.

The team is graduating six seniors, with senior Kara Wegner heading to play at the collegiate level for UT Chattanooga. All-District Team selection was awarded to Kara Wegner, Anna Avinger, and Catie Collins Smith.

Boys and girls cross country both competed at the state meet this year after a successful region meet where the girls bagged their first ever Region Championship and the boys placed second. Hosted at the Steeplechase, the state meet featured 24 top Tennessee teams. The boys team finished 9th overall, and the girls team finished 14th overall, with Harrison King and Katherine Betts leading the way for each.cpa-mountainbike

Middle school biker Perry Sherwood finished first in the middle school girls division.

The varsity football season continues on with the team’s second round playoff victory over Stratford High School. Round three playoffs will be Friday, November 20, against White House Heritage in the DEN. Athletic season passes will not be accepted for admission. The TSSAA tickets are $8 for all attendees.
