The TSSAA State Cross Country Championships at Percy Warner Park Steeplechase Course in Nashville were this past weekend. In Division II-AA Brentwood Academy boys and girls took first place, and in Division I-AAA Brentwood High School boys placed first, girls second.
Here is how local schools did:
In Division I A-AA
In the Girls 5K:
- 18th place: Faith Powell from Spring Hill with a 20:59.49 time.
- Gigi Maddox from Page finished 20th with a 21:01.21 time.
- 38th place, Katherine Betts from CPA with a 21:56.86 time.
Page as a team placed seventh with an average time of 22:57.03
In Boys 5K:
- 2nd place: Colin Lamb for Page (16:44.77)
- 13th place: Harrison King for CPA (17:16.20)
- 31st place: Allan Heuerman for CPA (17:52.20)
- 32nd place: Patrick Schulte for Page (17:52.54)
Page as a team finished sixth with an average time of 17:57.99
Christ Presbyterian Academy finished ninth with an average time of 18:24.51
Class AAA
In Girls 5K:
- 2nd place: Hailey Hendry for Brentwood with a time of 18:58.50
- 4th place: Addie Coggins for Independence with a time of 19:11.40
- 20th place: Julia Henderson for Ravenwood with time of 19:49.94
- 23rd place: Caroline Cherry for Brentwood with a time of 19:54.18
- 24th place: Jamie Blaylock for Ravenwood with a time of 19:54:41
- 25th place: Hannah Caldwell for Brentwood with a time of 19:57.83
As a team Brentwood finished second with a 19:53.04 average time.
Ravenwood placed sixth with an average time of 20:28.75.
In Boys 5K:
- 1st place: Brodey Hasty for Brentwood with a time of 15:35.09
- 3rd place: Taylor Vroon for Brentwood with a time of 15:50.85
- 15th place: Jackson Vroon for Brentwood with a time of 16:35.88
- 17th place: Meyer Makemson for Independence with a time of 16:37.20
- 18th place: Ryan Lee for Brentwood with a time of 16:38.63
As a team Brentwood finished first with an average time of 16:18.34.
Independence finished in seventh place with an average time of 17:21.88.

In Girls 5K:
- 10th place: Katie Wall for Franklin Road Academy with a time of 22:01.59
FRA finished tenth as a team with an average time of 24:29.28
In Boys 5K:
- 19th place: Spencer Meeks with a time of 18:49.07
Battle Ground Academy placed seventh with an average time of 19:29.98.
FRA placed eighth with an average time of 19:41.61
Division II Class AA
In Girls 5K:
- 1st place: Clairs Cheeseman for Brentwood Academy with a time of 18:57.64
- 2nd place: Meredith Helton for Brentwood Academy with a time of 19:27.47
- 6th place: Kylie Wittman for Brentwood Academy with a time of 20:18.20
- 7th place: Caroline Archer for Brentwood Academy with a time of 20:34.63
As a team Brentwood Academy placed first with an average time of 20:08.77.
In Boys 5K:
- 1st place: Carter Cheeseman for Brentwood Academy with a time of 16:20.40
- 2nd place: Davis Holliday for Brentwood Academy with a time of 16:22.27
- 3rd place: Joshua Bell for Brentwood Academy with a time of 16:30.80
- 5th place: Michael Renner for Brentwood Academy with a time of 16:52.37
- 6th place: Jack Clunan for Father Ryan with a time of 16:57.14
- 7th place: Matthew Porter for Brentwood Academy with a time of 16:58.62
As a team Brentwood Academy placed first with an average time of 16:36.90
Father Ryan placed fourth with an average time of 17:38.18.
