We missed National Pie Day at Buttermilk Sky Pie due to the snow storm last week. But a grand opening celebration will take place on Saturday, Jan 30 beginning at 10 am.
In November, we shared the good news that Buttermilk Sky Pie would be opening soon and after some delays, the day is finally here.
Owners of Buttermilk Sky Pie, Nick and Amy Marks (Knoxville natives), chose to bring Buttermilk Sky Pie to Franklin after visiting a location in Knoxville on a holiday trip.
Nick and Amy knew Buttermilk Sky Pie was the best pie they’d ever tasted on their very first visit. Trips to to see family always included a stop at the original Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop in Knoxville for Amy’s favorite, the I-40 and Nick’s favorite, the Coconut Cream pie.
“We’re excited to be bringing Buttermilk Sky Pie to Franklin,” said Franklin owner Nick Marks. “As a native of Knoxville, I was introduced to our delicious pies at the original location, and my wife and I quickly found our go-to for desserts. They truly are delicious and people quickly fall in love with Buttermilk Sky.”
Daily menu of pies includes: Granny’s apple, Nanny’s pecan, chocolate meringue, coconut cream, buttermilk and the I-40 pie.
And while you enjoy your ‘made just like grandma’s pie’,you can also know that you’re pie eating goes to a good cause. Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop has a “Pie it Forward” program where each month a portion of sales goes to support a local charity.
