Spring Hill Planners Consider 1 New Restaurant & 1 New Fast Food Chain

On Monday night the Spring Hill Planning Commission discussed proposals for construction of two restaurants.

Burger King is one, and the other is BoomBozz Craft Pizza and Taphouse.

BoomBozz Craft Pizza and Taphouse

The gourmet beer and pizza place proposes that it build a location at 2044 Crossings Circle South, near Jonathan’s Grille.

Turnberry Land Company submitted the request, to build the 5,176 square foot restaurant on the 0.82 acre site.

“The applicant proposes a one-story building of, primarily, brick,” according to Jon Baughman, Spring Hill city planner. “Generally, the building is well designed. Staff finds in favor of the building design, finding that it meets the intent of the Design Review Guidelines and incorporates similar materials and design elements to the surrounding buildings.”

BoomBozz is a small restaurant chain with several locations in Louisville, Indianapolis, and one coming to East Nashville.

They have been featured in several major magazine and newspapers, like Food Network Magazine, BusinessWeek, Fast Casual Magazine and more. They’ve also won a handful of awards and when Food Network Magazine set out to find the 50 best pizzas in all 50 states in 2011, they named BoomBozz the best pizza in Kentucky. The editors were won over by the Pollotate pie – a mash-up of the Italian words for chicken and potato – whose crust is brushed with rosemary-garlic olive oil, then topped with chicken breast, red onions, roasted potatoes and lots of asiago and mozzarella cheese.

Burger King

Planners also considered a submitted plan for a Burger King.

The request was submitted by Turnberry Land Company, LLC. for property located at 4883 Port Royal Road.

It proposes a 2,574 square foot restaurant on the 0.853 acre site.

The building will be primarily brick and stone.

“Generally, the building is well designed and incorporates a reduction in the architectural light band that was requested at Planning Commission work session,” Baughman said. “Staff finds in favor of the building design, finding that it meets the intent of the Design Review Guidelines and incorporates similar materials and design elements to the surrounding buildings.”

  1. We don’t need anymore fast food restaurants in Spring Hill and we already have a Burger King. I vote “no” for Burger King.

  2. It is obvious the City of Spring Hill are not listening to the Port Royal residents. No more fast food!! Let’s have a nice eatery.

  3. Please no BK at Port Royal – we don’t need anymore fast food – too many nice neighborhoods right there for that!!
