Building Good Will, Caring for the Community

Deontae Alexander and his brother DeCarlos were in awe at the dedication of their new Americans with Disabilities equipped, Habitat for Humanity home. This home was built by students from Williamson County High Schools under the project name of Habitat High. This was the eleventh home built by Habitat High and they will be doing another in September.

Students from Battle Ground Academy, Brentwood High, Centennial High, Currey Ingram Academy, Franklin High, Independence High and Ravenwood High collaborated, along with employees from Lowe’s and the Tennessee Housing Development Agency, to construct this home on Main Street over a five-week period, according to a recent press release.

Deontae Alexander, who works for Goodwill Industries explained, “My brother and I are grateful to be able to purchase this home. We also are blessed to have had students and adults all show up to help us build. I’m overwhelmed by this response.”

The Williamson County Habitat for Humanity has been helping others since 1992. Find out more at http://www.habitatwilliamson.org/ and check out the new location for the ReStore at 1725 Columbia Avenue in Franklin.
