Apple announced their newest iphone Tuesday, the iPhone 6. The newest smart phone is set to release Friday September 19th.
The price point will be $199 for their 4.7 inch model; there are 64GB and 128 GB versions available for $299 and $399 version respectively. The 5.5 inch version, known as the IPhone 6 plus will also be available the same day for $299. You will be able to find a 64GB and a 128GB version of that as well for $399 and $499.
The newest version will also have a better battery life with 11 hours of video and Wi-Fi use on the 6 and 14 hours on the 6 plus. The new phone will also have a brand new, lighter design, and an optimized camera. The new version will now change color based on your surroundings, and will self-focus twice as fast. The iPhone 6 plus will also come with optical image stabilization.
Apple had another surprise up their sleeve when they announced the Apple Watch, a device that Apple CEO Tim Cook is calling “The most personal device Apple has ever created” and “The next chapter in Apples story”. Slated to release in 2015, the watch will connect directly to your iPhone. Instead of the basic zooming in and out with your fingers, you will be able to access your apps through pressing the digital crown on your watch, bringing up what they call “a galaxy of apps”. You will also be able to access Apples Intelligent Personal Assistant, Siri, by pressing the Digital Crown. Apple Watch will be able to use your watch for things that your iPhone would do, such as your navigation, your calendar, calling, and using the new Apple Pay program.
With Apple Pay you can synch your wallet with your iPhone device and use it to scan for your items while at the store. Apple Pay is set to debut in October.
The pre orders will begin at all four major providers, Verizon, who will be offering it to their customers free in exchange for a working iPhone 4, 4s, or 5 model and signing a new 2 year contract with Verizon. Verizon will then give you a $200 gift card, the same price as the new iPhone. The iPhone 6 and 6 plus will also be available at T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint. It will also be available at your local Apple Store and Best Buy.
