Animal Center Holding its Own ‘Black’ Friday Event

Williamson County Animal Center (WCAC) has a house full of cute, adoptable black kittens, cats, dogs and puppies that need homes.

On Friday, Nov. 25 and Saturday, Nov. 26, the shelter will have a Black Friday and Saturday adoption event featuring these little bundles of energy.

Adoption fees for black animals (or with any black markings) will be waived, and there will also be no fee for all cats. All other adoptions will be $20.

November is also Senior Pet month, and there is no fee for any adopter over 55 years of age. Plus, there is no fee for senior dogs (6 years and older). An approved application is required.

Shelter Director Laura Chavarria announced that the annual event will focus on black animals, which are often overlooked in shelter environments.

“Black cats and dogs deserve the same wonderful life that other animals do,” Chavarria said. “But, they are often the last ones adopted. This after-Thanksgiving event has become a shelter tradition, and we always get a great response from the community.”

All pets adopted from the Williamson County Animal Center are spayed or neutered and have all required immunizations.

The shelter at 106 Claude Yates Dr. in Franklin will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25 and Saturday, Nov. 26. The shelter will be closed on Nov. 24, Thanksgiving Day.
